State of Local Emergency in Nelson Tasman region and local transition period for Marlborough

The state of local emergency for Marlborough has been allowed to expire and the region now moves into a local transition period to support the community in recovery.
 
The purpose of the 28-day transition period is to aid recovery by providing powers to manage, co-ordinate, or direct recovery activities.
Please be aware hazards are still present, and never try to walk, swim, drive through or play in flood water.
 
The state of local emergency for Nelson Tasman remains in place.
 
Remember, never walk, swim or drive through floodwaters. Please take extreme care and heed the advice of authorities. If life, health, or property is in danger, call 111 immediately.
