Emergency Management Orientation
Have you recently started in a role as an Emergency Management Officer or Advisor? Or are you a more established member of a Civil Defence Emergency Management (CDEM) Group or council and curious about how you fit into the wider emergency management system in New Zealand?
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) runs an Emergency Management Orientation course aimed at emergency management staff in CDEM and council roles.
On this two day course, you'll experience a range of speakers, discussions and activities that give context to your role's relationship with the wider emergency management system.
By the end of the course, you will have a deeper understanding of the emergenyc management system and how you fit within it. Experienced emergency management staff will share their experiences and pass on a few tips. You will get the opportunity to network with your colleagues and share your insights.
Key outcomes of this session are:
- Build relationships across the sector
- Develop a greater understanding of the role of NEMA in relation to CDEM Groups
- Develop an understanding of the emergency management system, how it works together, and your role within it.
