Memorandum of Understanding between MCDEM and the Salvation Army
In December 2007 the Ministry signed an MOU with the Salvation Army to strengthen welfare capability within the CDEM Sector. The following excerpt from the MOU summarises possible contribution to welfare activity from the Salvation Army:"The Salvation Army will from its membership and community volunteers associated with us, undertake to identify, train, administer and provide the following services, where these are available, to assist in planning for and recovering from a significant emergency:
- Stand alone catering units,
- Pastoral welfare support units,
- Welfare needs assessment units, (Clothing, Furniture)
- Meet and Greet, reception,
- Critical Incident Stress Support Teams (trained),
- Other Welfare units as skills are identified"
